Clown

Although a closed chapter, unreplicable in its original momentum, this series remains a root of my path.
The CLOWN series grew out of a decade-long exploration devoted to the human figure, concentrated between 1975 and 1980. Through the clowns, I sought to capture the duality of existence: the contrast between the painted smile and the hidden fragility, between the theatricality of gesture and the depth of gaze.

This cycle, now concluded and treasured in its time, represents a milestone for me. Each portrait was an exercise in empathy, a dialogue with the nuances of identity and emotion. The clowns, with their expressions suspended between playfulness and melancholy, allowed me to investigate humanity beyond appearances, refining the technique of the portrait and the aumana figure.
